The Process Post

Keeping my portfolio up-to-date as a practicing creative is a fool's errand. This is something of a process journal, where I'll periodically add Loom videos and short blurbs about what I'm working on on any given day.

This is a process journal, detailing my day-to-day as a busy creative.

Maintaining a portfolio is basically a full-time job… which becomes problematic when you already work full-time as a designer. And not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty prolific in terms of my weekly output. As far as my portfolio goes, I’ll continue to take the time polish and display projects that I love… but in general, this approach seems a bit more realistic. So for the foreseeable future, I’ll be documenting my design endeavors here. Each update will have a short Loom video, some bullet points about what was accomplished, and a small description. Stay-tuned!

What was worked on

  • Worked on Figma wire-frames for a blog/library list page
  • Sales One-Pager
  • Worked on AfterEffects animation promoting a benchmark report

Description

Started with Figma revisions to a library/blog page, wherein I prototyped the behavior for a tag/category paradigm to better “chunk” the content. Next, was a sales one-pager for one my client’s service offerings. I designed this in Figma as well because it wasn’t going to be printed, and because auto-layout rocks. Finally, I finished the day in AfterEffects where I animated a short motion graphic for a SaaS client promoting the release of their benchmark report.
